
Lindsay has been a professional actress since her graduation from The University of Alberta Bachelor of Fine Arts program in 1988. She has appeared with every major company in Calgary and many throughout Western Canada. Favourite shows as an actress include Apple (Blacklist Theatre) The Optimist (Theatre Junction), How I Learned to Drive (Alberta Theatre Projects), Breeder (One Yellow Rabbit), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Theatre Calgary) and My Favourite Thing (Lunchbox Theatre).
In 1994, Lindsay began writing with One Yellow Rabbit’s Alien Bait. Her first play, a one-woman show, Naming Names was produced as part of the High Performance Rodeo and Femfest. Since then she has had two radio dramas produced for CBC’s Summer Showcase and Outfront. In 2000 she co-wrote the popular one-act, I Eat which was a product of Lunchbox Theatre’s Petro-Canada Stage One process. In 2002 her play, Risking Rapture, was successfully produced at Lunchbox Theatre. In the spring of 2004, Lindsay won Alberta Playwright Network’s first commissioning competition and spent the summer writing The Twisted Ladder, her first full-length play. The Twisted Ladder was a recent recipient on an honorable mention in Alberta Playwrights Network’s Write to Win competition. In 2005 Lindsay wrote and performed a thirty minute version of Dough:the Politics of Martha Stewart as part of Theatre Junction’s Random Acts Festival. Based on the enthusiastic response Ground Zero Theatre commissioned a 90 minute version which debuted in 2006 where it sold-out 7 of 11 performances. She took Doughto the Edmonton Fringe Festival where it was a pick of the Fringe and Ground Zero sucessfully remounted Doughin November 2006 as part of their 10th anniversary season.
